Recent events in Egypt haven’t received much attention in the West. Many other world crises are unfolding that have taken the spotlight from Egypt. Last Wednesday, the Prime Minister said the nation was in a “state of war.” Unfolding today in Egypt are events that could have a huge prophetic impact on the Middle East. Greece is a first-world, politically advanced, progressive Western nation. Greek society is sophisticated and its culture is enlightened. Yet, Greece is collapsing – quickly, dramatically, and, painfully.
€25-30 billion has been withdrawn from Greek banks in the last three weeks. Greeks are withdrawing €3000 per second. Fuel is being rationed. In 1986, God’s Church had become a worldwide work! There were 1,200 ministers serving in 725 congregations in 57 nations around the world. The Church had a weekly attendance of 120,000 people. There were 210,000 co-workers and donors who were contributing to the work. The World Tomorrow program could be viewed on 382 television stations. The Plain Truth magazine was produced in seven languages and had a worldwide circulation of 8.4 million. And yet, as far-reaching as God’s Work was in the days before he died, Herbert W. Armstrong said in his final co-worker letter that “The greatest work lies yet ahead.” On today’s program, Stephen Flurry looks back at what happened to the work Mr. Armstrong started and shows where that work is continuing today!

Events over the past few days provide further proof that we are not living in God’s world. In Tunisia, Saif Al-Deen Al Rezgui opened fire on beachgoers in the city of Sousse. He killed at least 38 people, 30 of which are believed to be British citizens, marking the worst attack on the British peoples since the 2005 bombings in London. In Kobani, Islamic State militants killed more than 200 civilians—including many women and children. Last week in Nigeria, two girls blew themselves up near a crowded mosque. About 30 people died in the attacks.

Recent attacks have put Western countries on high alert. And though many are scared, there are still people streaming into Syria to join the Islamic State. Why are all of these terrible things happening? What is the ultimate outcome?
