Aired Tuesday, January 12, 2016   ·   07:00 AM CST   ·   54 minutes

With Mein Kampf being printed again in Germany, many are looking at the modern German’s perception of Adolf Hitler. Just 70 years removed from the atrocities of World War ii, today’s Germans are making comedic movies about Hitler and posing for selfies with actors impersonating the feared Nazi leader. On today’s show, Stephen Flurry covers the significance of this mood change in Germany.

The massive and coordinated sexual assault in Cologne on New Year’s Eve reveals some of the worst aspects of the refugee crisis in Europe. Germany’s politicians and the mass media have tried their hardest to ignore the negatives of the migrant crisis. Despite Germany’s attempts to cover up or ignore the magnitude of the Cologne attacks, news outlets are finally being forced to cover the story due to the sheer number of victims, which is now over 500. On today’s show, Stephen Flurry examines how the German people are responding to the Cologne attacks and explains where the migrant crisis is pushing Germany.

#141: A Revolution Brewing in Europe

Aired Friday, January 8, 2016   ·   07:00 AM CST   ·   55 minutes

Germany’s police, media and politicians have deceived the German public about crime caused by migrants pouring into the country. The lie was exposed in the most dramatic way possible on New Year’s Eve in Cologne. A 1,000-member mob raped and groped women with impunity. No one was arrested, and the head of the local police union believes no one will be punished. By trying to cover up this kind of migrant crime, German authorities are destroying the faith of the German people in their government, media and police. The parallels with 1930s Europe are unnerving. Meanwhile, the global economic crisis of 2008 is causing Europeans to completely rethink the American dominated economic system. A revolution is brewing in Europe that will see nations look to new politicians and a create a new way of running their economies.

#138: How Geography Foreordained That Britain Would Become the Greatest Empire Ever

Aired Tuesday, January 5, 2016   ·   07:00 AM CST   ·   51 minutes

Today's Trumpet Daily is a story about how a small, isolated, lonely, wind-swept, cluster of north Atlantic islands became the biggest empire in world history—and did so in what some historians call a fit of absent-mindedness.

But was it really an accident? Or was there an unseen hand, a powerful unrecognized force, working behind the scenes to ensure that this tiny nation became an unrivaled superpower?

How is it possible that the tiny nation of Britain became the most fantastic empire in history? And what is the most important lesson for the United States?

#137: Is It Time to Trash the Constitution?

Aired Monday, January 4, 2016   ·   07:00 AM CST   ·   54 minutes

If you are looking for an uncanny political document, the United States Constitution is it. It is the oldest national constitution still in force. It has been used as a model for more than 150 other national constitutions. And it’s only about as long as a simple term paper.

Many Americans, and even other nationals, favor upholding the foundational law of the republic. Its supporters say the Constitution is the reason the United States is exceptional, and why it became the greatest nation in history. But that’s only one side of the coin.

On today’s show, substitute host Philip Nice asks: What did the Constitution get right—and what did it get wrong?

#136: Is Alzheimer’s Disease Fueled by Society’s Lack of Respect for the Elderly?

Aired Friday, January 1, 2016   ·   07:00 AM CST   ·   41 minutes

The Alzheimer’s pandemic has long been a dark riddle. But a new study says the main cause of the disease may be societies’ absence of respect for elderly people. It basically says that individuals who are conditioned by society to believe that they will lose their mental acuity and health when they grow old most likely will. But the Bible makes clear that viewing aging and the aged negatively is totally contrary to God’s law. The young should honor the aged, and older people should reject society’s negativity about aging and instead wear the gray hair, which the Bible calls the “crown of glory,” proudly! The biblical example of Caleb shows that aging does not have to by synonymous with decline. At age 85, he said he was “still just as strong” as he had been at age 40.

#135: Lessons From Churchill’s Iron Curtain Speech

Aired Thursday, December 31, 2015   ·   07:00 AM CST   ·   54 minutes

Immediately following World War Two, Winston Churchill was voted out of office by the British people. He then entered into one of his renown periods of the “black dog,” especially as he couldn’t lead the nation through to counter what he saw massive threat to the western world, the rise of the Soviet Russia. However, he soon recovered his energy when encouraged by US President Harry Truman to visit the United States for an important speaking engagement. His speech was entitled “The Sinews of Peace” yet is more famously known today as the “Iron Curtain” speech. Listen in today as Trumpet writer Brent Nagtegaal discusses the background to the 1946 speech and the lessons it furnishes for today.
