#204: U.S. Retreats in the Sinai, Iran Prepares for ‘Widespread’ War and Europe’s Chronic Jihadist Problem
When U.S. President Obama backed the ousting of Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak in 2011 he effectively cleared the way for a radical Islamist insurgency in the Sinai region. Now the United States is planning to remove its roughly 700 troops in the region. Officials however are adamant that the move does not signal a U.S. military retreat. Just what does constitute a retreat in eyes of the current administration? Listen to Stephen Flurry discuss this latest development and much more on today’s Trumpet Daily Radio Show.
#203: Panama Papers, the Ruling Class and the Government of Tomorrow
The newly revealed Panama Papers are shedding a bright light on the anonymous financial dealings of some of the world’s most powerful people. This comes at a time when much of the working class already views the entrenched ruling class as intrinsically corrupt. Where is this leading? And most importantly, what is the solution to man’s corrupt system of governance? For answers, tune in to today’s Trumpet Daily Radio Show with Stephen Flurry.
#202: Toxic Mix: Mexican Cartels, Open Borders, Gang Warfare, Violent Cities and Family Breakdown
Many of America’s big cities are experiencing huge spikes in violent crimes this year. High demand for dangerous drugs like heroin among people living in suburbs is fueling violence between gangs selling drugs in the cities. Gangs are being supplied with drugs from Mexican cartels that have been exploiting America’s open southern border. The mix is toxic, and it’s leading to the fulfillment of biblical prophecies that forecast violence in our major cities. Leaders are trying to explain why these problems are occurring, but only provide “solutions” that address the effect rather than getting to the root cause of the matter. On today’s show, Stephen Flurry explains the true cause of violence in America’s cities.
#201: Who’s Guarding America’s Nuclear Weapons in Europe?
More than 180 American-owned nuclear bombs are stored in the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Turkey and Belgium. It should go without saying that the most powerful weapons in the world would also be guarded by the best security. Sadly, that isn’t the case. The United States deployed these bombs in Europe during the Cold War to serve as a deterrent to Russia. Since the end of the war, it seems the U.S. has all but forgotten about these weapons. On today’s show, Stephen Flurry explains how America’s neglected nukes will turn out to be its biggest threat.
#200: Sixty-one More Prisoners Granted Clemency by President Obama; Plus, an Interview With Guttenberg
United States President Barack Obama announced yesterday that he would grant clemency to 61 prisoners. In his nearly two terms in office, he’s commuted the sentences of 248 prisoners—more than the last six U.S. presidents combined. Mr. Obama believes America’s justice system has made some major mistakes in the past, so he is eager to give criminals a second chance. However, his decision to release criminals—when there’s no way of knowing if they’re genuinely sorry, nor any guarantee that they won't return to the same criminal actions—undermines America’s criminal justice system and serves to promote more crime. On today’s program, Stephen Flurry discusses this dangerous trend and points to where it is leading.
Also on today’s show, Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg recently had a lengthy interview with one of Germany’s leading news outlets. For analysis on his latest comments, check out the second half of today’s program.
#199: Obama Assails News Media for Shallow Reporting and Canada Seeks to Reward Laziness
In his speech at the Toner Prize Ceremony this week, United States President Barack Obama said the media was failing to dig deep into the stories during this presidential campaign season. He said that during his campaign back in 2008, the media asked “tough questions” to see if his actions would match his words. Looking back at President Obama’s comments in 2008, it’s clear he didn’t follow through on his promises, and most of all, the media had a big part to play in propping him up. On today’s program, Stephen Flurry explains how the biased media is affecting the U.S. and how it helped President Obama get into office.
Also on this show, Canada experiments with a new program that will guarantee people a minimum income even if they’re not working. What does the Bible have to say about hard work and earning an income?
#198: A Week’s Worth of Unspeakable Acts of Radical Islamic Terrorism
The attacks in Brussels and Lahore this past week grabbed most of the world’s attention, but a few less covered acts of terrorism took place around the globe showing that terror is becoming the new norm. In Glasgow, a Muslim man who wished Christians a “Happy Easter” was killed by another Muslim. In Iraq, a bomb blast killed 41 during a soccer match. Three explosions in Yemen left 25 dead, while the Islamic State crucified an Indian Catholic priest the same day. These acts of terror are only increasing around the globe, and the United States has been virtually silent about it. On today’s show, Stephen Flurry explains how the rest of the world will respond to these events while America disappears from the scene.
#197: Where Donald Trump Agrees With Barack Obama
Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and many of America's top leaders all have the same fatal flaw in their foreign policies. This flaw was on full display as presidential candidate Trump unveiled his foreign policy in a series of interviews over the weekend. On today’s show, listen to Trumpet writer Richard Palmer discuss this flaw, as well the Islamic State’s secret plan to start terror cells in Europe.
#196: History Returns in Europe and God’s Standard of Balance
When the European Union was created, the Continent thought it had escaped its long history of war and division. But, as the Observer noted this week after the Brussels bombings, “history has returned.” Violent attacks in Europe are becoming the new norm as terrorists begin to expose many of Europe’s integration shortcomings. What happens when the battle begins to heat up even more? On today’s show, listen to Stephen Flurry explain what Bible prophecy says about how Europe will respond to radical Islam.
Also on today’s show, the importance of living a balanced lifestyle and the need for self-control in achieving that goal.
#195: Lay Siege to Your One Big Problem
In Hebrews 12, sin is compared to being a weight that drags against spiritual growth. What is the big weight holding you back? On today’s program, we encourage you to be ambitious and concentrate all your energy on laying aside that massive weight. It will not be easy, but God encourages us in this process and gives us the power to overcome and grow. In this show, Stephen Flurry provides you with practical steps that will help you conquer that one bad habit.
