In the United States and United Kingdom, police and government officials are going to authoritarian lengths to enforce social distancing. Mayors in the U.S. are threatening to arrest people for going outside. In some places, people must show “paperwork” to travel. In the UK, drones and helicopters are monitoring public parks. Some police forces have set up programs that allow neighbors to report anyone they see breaking the social-distancing measures.
