Why was Barack Obama’s White House so intensely interested in Michael Flynn during the transition in 2016–17? A recently released document reveals that officials like John Brennan, James Clapper, Samantha Power, James Comey, Joe Biden and several others made requests to have Michael Flynn’s name unmasked in private conversations gathered by the National Security Agency.

Samantha Power, the United States ambassador to the UN who has nothing to do with the intelligence community, said under oath that she didn’t specifically unmask Michael Flynn at any time. It turns out, she made at least seven requests to unmask Flynn between November 2016 and January 2017.
