[03:30] Masking President Trump (12 minutes)

United States President Donald Trump visited a Ford manufacturing plant in Michigan yesterday and delivered a speech without wearing a face mask. The attorney general of Michigan is now looking into punishing the Ford plant for not enforcing state rules that compel people to wear face masks. During a live television interview, the attorney general (who wasn’t wearing a mask) also called President Trump a “petulant child who refuses to follow the rules,” and said she was “ashamed to have him be president of the United States of America.” This from the chief law enforcement official in the state of Michigan.

[15:00] Cuomo’s Care Home Crisis (15 minutes)

Two weeks ago, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo defended his mandate forcing care homes to take in COVID-positive patients. He said the decree was in place to free up hospital beds and that it “worked.” Now, after thousands of people have died with coronavirus in New York care homes, the governor is facing some, but not nearly enough, criticism for his decision. When asked about it this week, he said he was just following CDC guidelines and that the media “should ask President Trump” about it. The scandal, he now says, is President Trump’s fault.

[30:15] Toxic Productivity (25 minutes)

Do you feel compelled to be productive during the government imposed house arrest? Do you feel like if you’re not getting more done that you’re failing? The BBC wants you to know that if you are feeling guilty for being unproductive, you may be suffering from “toxic productivity.” Lighten up! “You are enough as you are today,” the messaging goes. Is this the message our young people need to succeed in life?
