[00:30] Thanksgiving Sacrifices (14 minutes)

In September 1620, a small ship called the Mayflower carried 102 passengers to the “New World.” After a year of hardship and sacrifice, the Plymouth colonists shared a day of thanksgiving with the Wampanoag. Four centuries on from that first Thanksgiving Day, America is very different Why is this year more of a sacrifice for Americans than previous ones? To start with, this Thanksgiving Day has shaped up to be the most expensive ever.

[14:25] Negative Producer and Consumer Price Indices (40 minutes)

The Producer Price Index (PPI) and the Consumer Price Index (CPI) have both been showing negative trends in the United States economy. The CPI alone has shown a 6.2 percent increase over the past 12 months, making it the highest CPI percentage increase over the past 30 years. With some of the worst inflation in its history, America is speeding toward an economic train wreck, and United States Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen believes these inflation rates won’t return to normal until the second half of 2022.
