Salvador Ramos, the Robb Elementary School shooter, grew up in a dysfunctional home without a father. Conservative commentators have been tweeting about what happens when the family breaks down and children are left to themselves. “Our culture is a factory just churning out lost, disturbed, broken, nihilistic people,” tweeted media blogger Matt Walsh. “They don’t all become school shooters, but few of them amount to anything good.”

Yesterday marked the two-year anniversary of George Floyd’s death. Barack Obama tweeted, “As we grieve the children of Uvalde today, we should take time to recognize that two years have passed since the murder of George Floyd ….” In response to Obama’s tweet, Red State news wrote, “This might top Twitter for the worst take on yesterday’s massacre ever.”

King Hezekiah was a righteous king of Judah, but late in life, he fell away from God. Though he appears to have repented at the very end, his example of spiritual lethargy serves as a powerful reminder that we must never stop growing in our pursuit of spiritual perfection.
