#66: Europe’s Incomprehensible Strategy to Contain Iran
Two important events of the past week reshaped the Middle East: United States President Donald Trump pulled out of the Iranian Nuclear Deal, and Iran and Israel went at each other for the first time in decades. On today’s program, host Brent Nagtegaal discusses these events in light of the Europe’s foreign policy decision making regarding Iran. On the one hand, Europe lambasted Mr. Trump for pulling out of the deal, and on the other, it reprimanded Iran firing on Israel from Syria, somehow not connecting that Iran’s presence in Syria has been conditional of the economic benefits Europe is suppling Tehran through the nuclear deal.
