- Israel will have fresh elections in September, just six months after its last elections. Opponents of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu found a way to weaken him politically, exposing Israel to more instability in a dangerous time.
- Germany’s ruling coalition performed very poorly in European parliamentary elections on Sunday. This weakened Chancellor Angela Merkel and her chosen successor, and may open the door for an unexpected candidate for the next chancellor.
- America agreed to sell Japan over a hundred advanced F-35 stealth fighter jets, part of Japan’s impressive remilitarization, and adding to something of an Asian arms race.
- We also talk about China threatening to restrict rare earth mineral sales to America, Germany expanding trade ties with Latin America, Hezbollah’s cash crunch, major meetings China is having with Russia and with India, and a secretive meeting of the Bilderberg Group on Europe’s future.
