- In society today, lying is routine. We’re accustomed to hearing lies from high-placed politicians, media personalities, public officials, educators, businessmen. More and more, the truth is being censored and buried, cast aside and overwhelmed by deceit.
- We talk about why this is so dangerous to society and to us individually. We look at why people lie, and why it is always a bad idea—how it undermines personal integrity, fractures relationships, and frays the public trust.
- We talk about how to teach our children to be truthful—and how to avoid subtler forms of lying such as flattery and hypocrisy.
- We also talk about the simplicity of being truthful, how it enables you to develop other virtues and build stronger relationships, and why it’s extremely important to put a high value on truth!
