• A terrorist killed at least 170 people at the Afghan airport from which America’s evacuation was taking place. America has subsequently boosted cooperation with the Taliban, including providing a list of people it is leaving behind, which one official described as a “kill list.”
• On top of that, America left the Taliban some $85 billion worth of armaments.
• As Afghanistan fell apart, German Chancellor Angela Merkel visited the Kremlin. A Ukrainian government source said she did a deal with Vladimir Putin: Putin will get the Taliban to prevent Afghan refugees flowing into Europe, and Germany will back down on Crimea.
