- Russia’s war against Ukraine continues to rage on. We’re now just past the one-year mark of the war. And this week, the Russians suffered more setbacks, which could prompt the nation to escalate.
- China this week put forward a plan to end the war. It’s a lousy deal that will likely embolden the Russians to further aggression. The reaction to the plan in one European capital exposes some dangerous undercurrents in the European worldview.
- Meanwhile, the U.S. Department of Energy suddenly says that COVID may have emerged from a lab in Wuhan, China, after all.
- We also discuss a rise in attacks on refugee shelters in Germany, a major weapons package the U.S. is selling to Taiwan, a UK trade deal with the EU, Iran’s new cruise missiles, and the breakdown of South Africa’s energy grid.
